Most off site staff positions are part time on-call with most event work being evenings and weekends. Events are located at private homes, venues and some unusual locations.

  • You must have reliable transportation, as events are located throughout Southern California. Mostly in Orange County.

Special Event Servers

Canyon Catering is looking for experienced capable event staff. Inexperienced staff with a can-do attitude is also considered.

If you have a great attitude, and experience in high end catering and/or three star restaurants… Let’s talk.

You’ll help set up and serve and clear outstanding food and beverages at special events for stations, buffets or plated sit down.

Special Event Bartenders

You need at least one year of experience behind a bar preferable in off premise catering. Craft cocktail experience is a plus.

Must be able to:

Set up and maintain a free-standing bar.
Handle large guest volume and a variety of drink orders.
Cross-trained and willing to perform food service as a backup

Have Valid California Tips Certification.
Bartending tools; List provided during application.

Special Event Captains – Leads

Responsible for all on-site staff management and execution of events.

Must have:

a thorough understanding of four-star level service events.

2+ years of experience as an event Captain-lead in off premise catering.

Responsible for all pre-event set up, the actual event and post-event breakdown.

ability to lead a group of servers and bartenders in an organized and professional manner to create a wow experience for the guests!

Experienced in Formal Sit Down, Buffets and Action Station style menus.

Be detail oriented.

Possess a valid California Driver’s license, as you will often be driving a company vehicle.

Special Event Chef

If you have four or more years of experience in fine dining and banquets, and or off-premise catering then we are interested in speaking with you.

You must have pride in what you do and a desire for perfection.

pay very close attention to detail.

You must have a comprehensive knowledge of cooking methods and essentials. Knowledge in unique and different ethnic cuisine is a plus.

Must have a flexible schedule and a willingness to work evenings and weekends. This is an excellent job for the right person.

Kitchen Staff

If you a have a passion for food; preparation, presentation, and taste with a minimum of one years’ experience in Sautéing, Grilling, Blanching, Roasting, Vegetable & Salad Prep, or are currently enrolled in a culinary arts program is a good start.

You will need excellent knife skills, plus possess a fine-tuned attention to detail. Be able to follow direction and work independently some times and be a serious team player like NASCAR Pit Crew at others.
